Das Unternehmen hat eine komplexe und historisch gewachsene Applikationslandschaft, in der Geschäftsprozesse nicht immer durchgängig abgebildet sind. Änderungen an Geschäftsapplikationen sind häufig, eine strukturierte Testorganisation zur Vermeidung von Fehlern bei der Inbetriebnahme von Applikationen, der Änderung bestehender bzw. der Einführung neuer Prozesse war nicht vorhanden. Ziel des Mandats war die Verringerung dadurch bestehender Risiken für die Geschäftstätigkeit.
